The short version

Horizon works entirely on your device. We do not collect personal data as part of normal use.

Camera, microphone, and sensor data are processed locally and never transmitted to us.

We have no servers storing your videos, audio, or recordings.

The only data we receive is what you send us directly — for example, if you email us for support.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Akcero Private Limited ("Akcero," "we," or "us") handles information in connection with your use of Horizon (the "App"). Horizon is a camera utility app that helps you capture stable, correctly oriented video on your iOS device.

Please read this Policy carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Data We Collect

Horizon is designed to function without collecting personal data. The App does not require an account, login, or registration. All camera, microphone, sensor, and recording activity is processed locally on your device.

The following table describes each permission the App uses and why:

Used to display the live viewfinder and record video when you choose to capture. Video is saved directly to your device's Photo Library. We do not transmit, access, or store your recordings.

Used when you choose to record video with audio. Audio is captured and saved to your device alongside the video. We do not access or transmit your audio.
Photo Library
Write / add only
Add-only access used to save your video exports to your device. We do not read from, browse, or access your existing photo library or media.
Motion Sensors
On-device only
Your device's accelerometer and gyroscope are used on-device in real time to detect orientation and apply stabilisation. Sensor data is never stored or transmitted.

In addition to the above, we may receive limited information in the following circumstances:

  • App diagnostics: Your device's operating system may generate crash reports or performance diagnostics. These are subject to your device's own privacy settings (for example, your iOS Analytics & Improvements settings) and are handled in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. Akcero does not independently collect crash data through any SDK or analytics tool.
  • Support communications: If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. This is used only to respond to your query.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, location, contacts, browsing history, or any information about your device's other apps or files.

We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking tools.

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

We do not build profiles about you.

3. How We Use Information

Because the App processes data on-device, there is very little data for us to use. What we do receive is used only for the following:

  • Providing the App's recording and stabilisation features — entirely on your device.
  • Saving your video exports to your Photo Library when you request it.
  • Responding to support requests you send us by email.
  • Meeting our obligations under applicable law, if required.

We do not use any information for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Because the App operates on-device and we do not integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, there is no routine sharing of your data with third parties.

The only circumstances in which we may share information are:

  • Legal compliance: If required to do so by applicable law, court order, or lawful government request.
  • Protection of rights: Where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of Akcero or its users.

In both cases, disclosure is limited to the minimum information necessary.

5. Data Storage and Retention

  • Your videos and recordings are stored locally on your device. We have no access to them and no copies are held by us.
  • Support emails are retained for as long as needed to resolve your query and meet any applicable legal obligations, after which they are deleted.
  • We do not maintain any databases of user data connected to normal App use.

6. Your Choices

You remain in control of the permissions the App uses:

  • Camera, microphone, and Photo Library access can be revoked at any time from your device Settings > Privacy & Security.
  • Revoking a required permission will prevent the related feature from working, but you can continue using other parts of the App.
  • You can stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored App data from your device.
  • You may contact us at info@akcero.ai to request information about any personal data we hold about you, or to request its deletion.

7. Age and Suitability

Horizon is suitable for users of all ages. Because the App does not collect personal data as part of its normal operation — and all recording activity stays entirely on your device — there are no age-based restrictions on its use.

8. International Data Transfers

If you contact us for support, your email is received and processed by us in India. If you are located outside India, this constitutes a transfer of personal data to India. We handle support communications with reasonable care and in accordance with this Policy.

Because the App itself operates entirely on-device with no SDKs that transmit data externally, no other international transfers of your data occur through normal use of the App.

9. Security

The App does not transmit personal data over the internet as part of its normal operation. Support communications received by email are handled with appropriate care and access-controlled within our organisation.

No method of communication is entirely free from risk. If you have concerns about a specific communication, please contact us directly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Policy.
